It's over.
The Christmas Rush has welled up, loomed over us, and crashed over.
My wife and I have put out around 1000 hampers together.
We are both flat, exhausted and nearing hysteria.
It is a combination of sheer tiredness and at the same time pure pride that we have managed to do it again.
Oh, and there's no time for drinking or "celebrating" with drink.
This one's sober and just nice and quiet.
Jolly on ya! Is that okay to say or am I suggesting something totally inappropriate? That could be fun, too. Ja Ja Ja (Spanish for Ha Ha Ha) I'm riding a wave of exhaustion also and am feeling a little punchy but I wanted to wish you a Very Merry Sober Christmas. Jo Jo Jo!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kary May, Merry Christmas to you and everyone who is sharing this!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your wonderful words. xxx
ReplyDeleteI totally get that. Sounds similiar to my week, which was dominated by an uber-sensitive mood while I raced around various manhattand and brooklyn neighborhoods doing last minute christmas shopping. Shopping around here always bears a strong similarity to an olympic sport, but this time of year? Ohmygod it's so overwhelming. Praying my 5 year old lets me sleep just a little bit late tomorrow! Have a wonderful & peaceful holiday... Lulu
ReplyDeleteYes! What an accomplishment! It's good to be sober, isn't it? Merry Christmas to you and yours!
