Since Last Post - Have not had anything last night or today, and will not either. Just one day at a time. Slept well.
Day 97 - Today they Buried a Whale.
Have been reading plenty of personal stories on other blogs about being sober and it is refreshing to see that I am not alone. Have had some worthwhile comments posted so am inspired to keep progressing. Interestingly, most other blogs concentrate on the 100 days of being sober after they have ceased drinking. Anyway that is what I have chosen.
Today a whale washed up dead at the local beach and they have brought in bulldozers and equipment to dig a four metre hole to put it in. The locals are up in arms, saying the rotting flesh will be bait for sharks.
Just goes to show no matter how big or invincible you are we all have to end somewhere, just being buried on a beach sounds very beautiful.
Short post, am busy today.
I never get bored of reading other people's stories. they are never dull. alcoholics rarely are. the former drummer of the stereophonics died of an alcohol binge at 5:00 AM this morning in Wales which was quite depressing. there seems to have been a spate of alcohol induced deaths recently. knowing the alcoholics predisposition towards self pity it seems hardly surprising that the former drummer decided to drink himself to death not long after the stereophonics had played a big gig after a long absence which he wasn't able to take part in, due to the fact that he was a former drummer and had fallen out badly with one of the band members. poor guy. What waste. every alcoholic death is one too many as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteanyway thanks for sharing. sorry if that's a bit depressing, but I only heard about it today so it's been on my mind. and when I read about people who were still drinking who might also be alcoholics it brings that story to mind.
